Everything You Need To Know About The Grounds in FC 27
The recently premiered The Grounds Deep Dive gave us a proper look at the mode.
Here's everything that was revealed.
The Grounds Takes Pro Clubs To An Open Playground
In FC 27, Pro Clubs is linked to The Grounds mode. The entire Clubs experience can be accessed in "The Clubhouse."
You begin by creating your own player avatar, choosing whether to play as an attacker, midfielder, or defender.
From there, you'll pick an Archetype, such as Magician, Finisher, Target, and more.
Archetypes are all unlocked at the start, and resets no longer cost Coins or a reset consumable. The attribute system also looks largely the same.
All in all, the player progression in The Ground is the same as in Clubs previously. Everything you do adds to your progress.
New additions include AMPs that'll give you buffs inspired by real players.
They have four tiers of rarity, and up to three different AMPs can be equipped at the same time.
Live Events are one of the major additions to Clubs, featuring 11v11 tournaments against other Clubs.
Tournaments can use House Rules, which include:
- Mystery Ball
- King of the Hill
- No Rules
- Headers and Volleys
- Survival
- Long Range
Real-life Footballing Nations Inspire The Open World Of The Grounds
There will be three different districts in The Grounds. Each of them is inspired by some of the biggest footballing nations in the world.
You can find football culture on every street with its own local flair.
Here are the three regions and nations they're inspired by.
- Parkside District (England)
- Montclair District (France)
- Zeiza District (Argentina)
There is a big oval in the middle, Terrace, that'll be your hub where you'll spawn first, see other players, and have quick access to The Clubhouse and Store.
Each region will also have its own national team player guiding you through the world and sharing their experience.
You'll meet Kylian Mbappé in Montclair, Paulo Dybala in Zeiza, and Chloe Kelly in Parkside as Mentors.
Alex Hunter will also be one of the Mentors. All four will have objectives tied to them for rewards.
Interactions with mentors will also have dialogue choices allowing you to control how the conversation flows.
The Grounds Features Both Competitive And Casual Modes
The Grounds features plenty of modes, both serious and more relaxed ones.
Confirmed mode types include:
- Clubs League Playoff
- Stadium 11v11 Events
- Rush Stadium Drop-in Events
- 1v1 to 4v4s
- Rush Small-Sided Match
- Kickabouts
- Drop Kick Targets
You can visit a dedicated building to queue for Rush mode or find the scattered drop-in events.
Kickabouts, meanwhile, are casual events that are intended to be "fun," like a dribbling obstacle course, football but scoring like basketball, and more.
Additional events will be introduced post-launch.
Drop Kick Targets are open-world mini-games where you kick the ball at various targets or have it pass through street objects like fences, walls, etc.
With all those modes and features added, there will now be Club-specific objectives to progress the season.
The Grounds Features Authentic Drips And Emotes
Clothing is another important part of the mode.
There are plenty of iconic fits and official merch from brands like Adidas, Nike, Puma, New Balance, and others.
Of course, it wouldn't be a modern live open world without some goofy emotes.
There will be tons of weird dances, popular memes, and over-the-top celebrations to unlock and roll your eyes over.
Launch Is Just The Start For The Grounds
Like Ultimate Team, The Grounds will also receive live updates after launch.
There will be new Chapters that bring new features and world updates.
Every season will see new Objectives, Clubs League & Playoffs, and gameplay updates.
Campaigns and Takeovers will bring new world events and vanities.
Each of them will have different runtimes, lasting weeks to months.
The first five campaigns for the mode have been confirmed:
