The FC 27 Career Mode Deep Dive just aired, revealing all features and improvements coming to the mode in this year's entry.

The transfer system was completely overhauled, rivalries were added to player careers, the Creator Challenges feature was introduced, and the Dynamic OVR feature was also added.

In this article, we will go in-depth on the Dynamic OVR feature coming to Career Mode in FC 27.

The Dynamic OVR feature is described by the devs as "the single biggest change ever made to how player ratings work in Career Mode”.

Overall is now a living stat instead of just a static number.

Before, the system was too rigid. It didn’t represent the physical toll of bi-weekly games, form, morale, among other elements that affect players' performance through the season.

With the introduction of Dynamic OVR’s, abilities and potential stop being the end-all, be-all, and player morale, momentum, injuries, and squad rotation take on a bigger role.

Players’ ratings will now reflect the reality of a football season, making every season and save unique.

Dynamic OVR’s will impact both user and CPU teams.

Players' form, morale, and match fitness will determine if the rating increases or decreases through the season.

Dynamic OVR will also affect how teams approach or avoid players in the revamped Transfer Market.

Players in a great moment of form will see their transfer value increase and market interest rise. On the other hand, bad-performing players will see the reverse effects.

Squad management becomes much more important with the addition of Dynamic OVR. Keeping players happy and fit, combined with good performances on gameday, will lead to an OVR increase.

If you struggle to do that, or your player suffers an unfortunate injury, their OVR will decrease and so will their transfer value.

But players' ratings don’t increase or decrease in the same way.

Young promising players will see a much bigger boost to their OVR after a good moment of form than veteran players will.

That’s because they have much more potential and room to grow than a veteran who has already hit their peak.

Dynamic OVR boosts players' attributes according to their position, targeting the most important traits for each player's role, such as pace and dribbling for wingers, or tackling for center-backs.

If a player can perform at a high level for months, that will then positively impact their dynamic potential.

Morale was completely overhauled, and the mechanic has real implications in the Dynamic OVR feature.

What you say in press conferences, private talks, how you handle squad roles, and the way you deal with unexpected events will impact your player’s morale.

In turn, that will increase or decrease your players' OVR. So, while performing on the pitch is important, so is making sure your locker room is happy.

When it comes to match fitness, we need to start by pointing out that the old training plan menus are done and dusted.

Now match fitness is about the readiness of players for kick-off, and isn’t tied to their in-game stamina.

It combines their recent energy levels and injury status to determine if the player should be on the pitch.

Great match fitness doesn’t give your players an attribute or statistical boost. However, it ensures they play at their current level.

If you rush a player from injury or don’t take into consideration their fatigue, they will be penalized, with their OVR and in-game attributes decreasing.

Is worth noting that the injury system was reworked to make it more authentic.

Now, players have an injury risk tied to them. While a player might be okay to play, if he is considerably fatigued, his injury risk increases.

Bringing back players from injury early has real risks, as a player's injury can then extend, or you risk re-injuring them.

Player roles also affect Dynamic OVR. Playing players outside of their position will negatively impact their Dynamic OVR and can do the same for their morale.

In FC 27 Career Mode, players have up to seven positions, one primary and six secondary ones.

When moving a player to one of their secondary positions, the game will then calculate an appropriate OVR for that specific role.

Player development also changes with the introduction of Dynamic OVR. Growth profiles were introduced, with six unique trajectories that dictate how players grow and then decline.

Performance now alters players' development, with players who constantly perform at a high level surpassing their expected peak and increasing their dynamic potential.

Players who go through a bad run of form will see their progress stall, and maybe even their dynamic potential regress.

All of this will happen on user and CPU teams, creating a more authentic and realistic experience in Career Mode.

Coaches and coaching staff were also reworked, as they no longer provide players with stat boosts.

Now, your backroom staff will serve as a way to access players' potential and squad fit, which also impact your transfer strategy.

There will be 12 co-coaches, and their quality is incredibly important, as it will determine if they access players' potential correctly or if they miss diamonds in the rough.

This is everything you need to know about the Dynamic OVR feature coming to Career Mode in FC 27.
