The FC 26 reveal trailer has just premiered, and it announced many huge gameplay changes, with revamped mechanics, new gameplay presets, new roles, and more.
All of the gameplay changes introduced aim to make FC 26 more realistic and authentic, and to allow players to play the game as they see fit. EA listened to the community requests, as most changes come from fans' feedback.
FC 26 Gameplay Additions

Two brand-new gameplay presets are coming in FC 26, with fans now having the option to choose between competitive or authentic gameplay.
Competitive gameplay is geared to online head-to-head, and it's the gameplay preset players will experience on Ultimate Team and Clubs. It has faster passing, smarter goalkeepers, and offers more direct control over players.
As for authentic gameplay, it will be present in Career Mode and offer fans a more realistic experience. Players are more positionally responsible, the success rate of set pieces is more true to real life, and more.
It's a fantastic addition, probably the best in many years, as it allows Career Mode players to experience something they have been begging for years, a realistic simulation base game.
But that's not all, as new roles are coming in FC 26, as well as new skill moves, player archetypes, be a keeper mode for Rush, new animations, and signature perks.
Gameplay Improvements

FC 26 made substantial gameplay improvements to mechanics such as dribbling, AI positioning, goalkeepers, and player movement.
Dribbling is now more dynamic, fluid, and responsive, making it feel and look more authentic. Players now have more control over their dribbling moves, and new animations make dribbling feel smoother.
Due to popular demand, goalkeepers' movement underwent a huge overhaul, with their positioning being significantly improved, and their overall movement looking more realistic.
Now, goalkeepers will react to in-game situations more naturally, acting in the same way real-life goalkeepers would. Deflections have been fixed, as we now have controlled deflections, meaning goalkeepers will be smarter about where they deflect the ball.
Passing is another gameplay feature that was revamped, with passing being more refined. It looks different on the competitive or authentic gameplay preset, with competitive having faster passes, while authentic has slower passing.
On-ball physicality was improved, and skill moves have been simplified, but we still don't have a lot of information about the two.
This is everything you need to know about the FC 26 gameplay changes. Once more information about the gameplay is revealed, we will make sure to update the article.
