A More Balanced Gameplay Experience
The NBA 2K27 Gameplay Trailer revealed that changes were implemented to make gameplay feel more balanced than in previous titles.
In NBA 2K27, AI defenders will be more effective at contesting shots and better at holding their position, especially in specific modes such as The REC.
The brand-new Dunk Meter was introduced. This dynamic feature "evaluates defensive positioning from the moment players take off all the way through the finish."
The green window for dunks will now expand or shrink depending on whether the lane is clear or players are contesting the dunk.

NBA 2K27 Introduces Significant Improvements To All Game Modes

The MyPLAYER Builder saw its number of badges increased, from 40 to 53, with 19 new badges being added to the mode.
2K aims to "push players to experiment and craft unique builds" with this change.
In perhaps the biggest change announced so far, MyTEAM will finally have a unified Auction House. PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 players will all access the same auction house in NBA 2K27.
The goal of this change is to make it easier for players to find cards at consistent prices, while also offering a much wider variety of MyTEAM cards.
But that's not all, as from now on, there is no verification delay after winning an auction, with the cards going straight to players' MyTEAM collection.
MyNBA features and mechanics were revamped to better represent today's league. The salary cap effects of the new CBA's second apron were added, and so was the ability to offer No-Trade Clauses to free agents.
Authenticity is the name behind these changes made to MyNBA. More improvements made to the mode are expected to be revealed in the near future.
The City will remain largely unchanged in NBA 2K27, with the recreation of the Rucker Park being the biggest change.
It's in the new Rucker Park that this year's MyCAREER prelude story, "Fire & Concrete” will take place. So far, nothing is known about the prelude story plot.
