Victor Wembanyama is on the brink of becoming the face of the league, if he isn't already, so his selection as the cover athlete comes as no surprise.
The Frenchman is thrilled to feature on the cover of NBA 2K27, with the Spurs superstar stating:
"To be the face of a game that fuels that hunger for hoops and whose covers immortalize the all-time greats, that’s a dream come true for me"

Caitlin Clark will feature on the NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition cover, making history as the first WNBA star to be on an NBA 2K premium cover.
Clark is also the first Indiana Fever player to ever grace an NBA 2K cover, proving the superstar guard continues to make history on and off the court.
The Indiana Fever star guard stated how much this meant to women's basketball:

The NBA 2K27 Ultra Edition is graced by none other than Derrick Rose, the youngest NBA MVP in history and one of the most beloved players to ever play in the league.
It marks the second time Rose features on an NBA 2K cover, as the Bulls legend was featured on the NBA 2K23 cover.
