Season 9 of FC 26 is now live, bringing in several FUTTIES cards, packs, and all the usuals you'd expect. It also added a brand-new element, the Premium Pass Token, which changes the dynamic quite a bit.
Instead of having you cough up FC Points or 500,000 Coins, you can actually purchase the Premium Pass for absolutely free.
But how do all the other rewards stack up? Here's whether Season 9 is worth your time and how the Premium Token works.
FC 26 Season 9 Premium Pass Token Explained
You can earn a Generic Premium Pass Token in level 22 of Season 9's free track. The token can be used to buy a Premium Pass.
Since we're approaching the game's end cycle, there will only be one more season after this. So the Premium Token can be used to claim either Season 9 or the upcoming Season 10, which starts on August 13, 2026.
EA also said in their social media post that it's a "special one-time reward," which likely means we won't have another token as such next season.
A previous store pack bundled Season 7, 8, and 9 for 1,200,000 Coins or 2,400 FC Points. Selling the bundle to only later have Season 9 for free, without any compensation, would kind of be unfair.
So, if you brought Season 9 Premium Pass and can reach level 22, you'll get the next one for free.
However, players who use the Token to buy this pass will likely have to purchase the next season through coins or FC Points.
Is the FC 26 Season 9 Premium Pass Worth Buying?
The Season 9 Premium Pass is worth considering. Whether or not you should use the Premium Token after you get it at level 22 is a different question.
We do feel saving the Token for the next season is a more practical choice depending on how long it takes you to reach there.
It'll take you at least a couple of weeks, and by then FUTTIES will begin. The cards and Evolutions from the Premium Pass may no longer be excellent.
Based on EA's wording, there will be no Premium Token next season. It'll also have slightly greater rewards for FC 27, as it will be Pre-Season.
Likewise, it will actually bring plenty of high-rated FUTTIES cards. Not just the underwhelming three we have right now.
Some great Evolutions and decent packs make the current Season 9 something to look out for.
We suggest holding off on the Token if you reach level 22 late, as most rewards might become outdated or not have much longevity.
