FC 26 is introducing plenty of major changes to the career mode that has been so-so over the years, with incremental improvements here and there.
Manager Career, in particular, is getting a bit deeper with the Manager Market that sees managers being sacked, poached, and switching clubs voluntarily. All eras come to an end, after all.
Below is everything revealed about the Manager Market in the latest EA FC Career Deep Dive.
Everything about Manager Market In FC 26

Like the previous EA FC, the managers can get sacked. Managers can now also choose to switch clubs voluntarily or be poached by a different team.
The opposition manager in FC 26 can be booted out of the club in the following ways:
- Managers can be sacked for underperforming.
- A manager can be poached by a different club if their tactical vision and reputation align with the club.
- The manager could choose to move out of the club to "seek new challenges."
Sometimes caretakers are appointed when the manager is sacked. The caretaker could assume the job if they perform well, and that means the club will be off the market and no longer looking for a new gaffer.
New opposition managers will also instill their tactical vision into the club, and it'll make your opponents play differently. All this will also have a "ripple effect" that will change the AI’s squad evaluation process and transfer strategies.
If you're lucky and the caretaker does not fit, the following criteria will be used to determine the potential candidate, per EA's latest deep dive:
- The quality of the club against the quality of the club the target is currently managing. For managers who are in the Free Agents pool, the quality of the club they formerly performed at will be used.
- Managers can switch between managing clubs from men’s and women’s football, and the potential transition will be included in the evaluation process.
- The manager’s current job security level will be a significant factor, with Safe managers unlikely to switch clubs.
- The length of the tenure a manager has at their current club will influence the compatibility rating, to make sure the job market movement doesn’t go stale and that recently appointed managers will have the opportunity to prove themselves in their new roles.
- If the manager has the same nationality as the target club, their chances of making the shortlist will be increased.
- Clubs will assess the compatibility of a manager’s Tactical Vision with their club's vision. Each club will assess Tactical Vision compatibility differently. If the club currently favors a Park the Bus Tactical Vision, they are more likely to take in managers who have other perspectives, while a club that prefers Possession Play is less likely to want to appoint a manager with a different mindset.

Now, then, it is time to apply for the new role. You'll find new jobs in the Jobs Overview tab. There will be a High Likelihood section that'll tell you whether you have a shot at the job. The more you tick these boxes, the better your chances of getting the job:
- Your performance against the club’s objectives. Exceeding expectations at your current club will give a significant boost.
- The quality of the club you’re playing at compared to the club you’re targeting. It will be highly unlikely that you will get to jump from a lower division team to the best clubs in the world; however, should you manage to win a trophy with a lower-tier team, opportunities at bigger clubs will begin to surface.
- The compatibility between the club’s Tactical Vision and your most-used Tactical Vision. The assessment will be similar to the one done to AI-controlled managers.
There will be a suggestion tab that'll make things easier and suggest to you the clubs you can take over. In case you're sacked, your agent will list all the clubs that are interested in signing you.
That's everything about the Manager Market in FC 26 and how it works.
