Returnal is a brand-new IP from Housemarque that has everyone excited. It's a blend of psychological horror, Sci-Fi settings, and arcade-inspired shooting mechanics. Sounds all well and good, right?
It's slated to be the next big PlayStation Exclusive, but we know how Days Gone did at launch. Will this do better and can you play it on your PS4 too?

We are pretty certain that Returnal is not releasing on PS4 consoles anytime soon due to its reliance on the DualSense features exclusive to the PS5's controller and the technological demands of the title. Pre-loading is available if you have a PS5, though!
To put it plainly, it just can't run on a PS4 at any playable capacity. Still, if you're a fan of the title and you want to know more... PlayStation UK shared this therapeutic clip of a bunch of Returnal's explosions!
Will Returnal Be On PS4?
Returnal is being developed as a PlayStation exclusive, however, it will only be released on PlayStation 5.
The game will take advantage of the PlayStation 5's DualSense controller and Tempest Engine to support advanced haptic feedback and 3D spatial audio, features that aren't available on the PlayStation 4.

Returnal will also be taking advantage of the PS5's fast NVME drive for near-instant loading, as well as allowing for a wide variety of enemies, visual effects, and objects to be on screen.
Basically, the PS4 is too weak to match the vision that the developers have.
The game will launch exclusively on PS5 on April 30th.
