Want to know how to make the best out of chain wrestling in WWE 2K25? Then fret not, we're here to help.
The latest installment in the 2K wrestling game reintroduces some fan-favorite mechanics, such as chain wrestling. It gives one on one matches a bit more complexity, letting both players tangle in a fun little minigame that makes each bout more fluid and overall entertaining.
How Does Chain Wrestling Work in WWE 2K25?
In essence, activating chain wrestling in WWE 2K25 will trigger a minigame. In it, both players will select an action from a variety of options which will then trigger if they find the hot spot by using the left stick.
That's the gist of it. Now, let's break it all down.
How To Activate Chain Wrestling in WWE 2K25
First of all, chain wrestling is only available in one-on-one matches. It also won't happen on non-standard match types or when you're playing as/facing a wrestler with the new Giant archetype.
Chain wrestling will automatically trigger at the beginning of matches if you try to grapple with an opponent who has the chain wrestling buff activated. This small buff can be seen on top of a character's HUD. It's the blue chain icon.

As the match progresses, the buff, which is intended to protect against grapples early on, fades away. When that happens, both players can go for a grapple at the same time to trigger chain wrestling.
Finally, if one player initiates a grapple, they can hold the Circle button on PlayStation or the B button on Xbox to initiate chain wrestling.
How To Win the Chain Wrestling Minigame
Once the minigame is triggered, you'll be presented with three options. Each does something different and is easier or harder to trigger depending on the situation.

- Wrench: use it to inflict damage
- Switch: gain control by switching to a new hold
- Attack or Drive: End the chain wrestling minigame
Once you select an option, you'll need to locate the "hotspot" using the left stick. Rotate it around until the inner blue circle goes red and starts expanding. If you do it before your opponent, you'll win that interaction.
Keep rotating your options until you reach a way to secure the advantage by ending the chain wrestling minigame with a powerful finish. An easy tip to keep in mind is that the blue bars before you start the hotspot minigame indicate how easy or hard that option is to pull off. Fewer bars mean it will be harder for you to fill the inner circle.
