The 16th edition of the Presidents Cup is on the horizon. The competition, which takes place in Medinah, Illinois, from the 22nd to the 27th of September, will feature some of the biggest names in golf.
The players are divided into two squads: the U.S. and the International squad. The U.S. squad has dominated the event since its inception, with a favorable 13-1-1 record.
But that also means a win for the International side means more with each edition that goes by. If that happens, it would be the first since 1998 and end the U.S. squad's 10 straight Presidents Cup titles.
Presidents Cup Teams
The U.S. Team captain is none other than Brandt Snedeker, who selected the following six players to be a part of the 12-man roster: Chris Gotterup, Xander Schauffele, Jackson Koivun, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, and Jacob Bridgeman.
These players will join Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Russell Henley, and Collin Morikawa, selected via the Automatic Qualification process.
The team that will try to write their names in the history books, becoming only the second International squad to lift the Presidents Cup, is led by Geoff Ogilvy.
Geoff Ogilvy picked the following six players to represent the International squad: Corey Conners, Nico Echavarria, Sungjae Im, Ryo Hisatsune, Nick Taylor and Christiaan Bezuidenhout.
The remaining six players for the International squad were selected via Automatic Qualification, and they are: Si Woo Kim, Hideki Matsuyama, Ryan Fox, Tom Kim, Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott.

The first two days of the Presidents Cup, 22nd and 23rd September, are team practice days, with the competition going into full gear on the 24th.
