EA Sports has always released NHL titles in early October, but this could change this year. According to early insider leaks and EA's shareholder schedule, NHL 26 is shifting towards a traditional release window.

If this is true, we can expect a September 12, 2025, launch, which is the second Friday of the month. Pre-orders and special editions could be eligible for early access.

What platforms will NHL 26 be on?

NHL 26 will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; however, PC fans may be disappointed.

Despite the growing demand, EA doesn't want to bring the NHL to PC, similarly to UFC, which also skipped a PC version.

While there hasn't been any official announcement yet, speculation is buzzing. Some fans are calling for a double brother cover again, possibly the Kachuk brothers.

However, EA can also go in a younger direction, and Mattlin Cabbini, the dynamic rookie from California, could be a strong candidate due to his growing popularity and social media presence. Lane Hudson, who recently won the CER Trophy, is another option.

What can fans expect from NHL 26?

Here are some improvements fans can expect in the game:
