MLB The Show 25 is one of the most anticipated sports games of 2025, as the title has showcased exciting changes, leaving baseball fans eager to enter the Diamond.

In the MLB The Show franchise, no mode even comes close to the popularity of Diamond Dynasty, the Ultimate Team or MyTEAM of the Sony San Diego Studio title.

So, let's find out everything about the most played mode in MLB The Show franchise history.

What is Diamond Dynasty?

Diamond Dynasty is a mode where you build your dream team to face other players in multiple online modes and prove you are among the elite MLB The Show players.

You can use current stars or legendary players and have the liberty to choose between getting the most meta players or creating a team with your favourite players, even if they aren't the best cards in the mode.

Like all multiplayer modes in today's day and age of sports games, Diamond Dynasty has a currency you need to earn to buy players, packs, and items.

The currency is called Stubs, and you can earn it by playing games on the many Diamond Dynasty modes, completing challenges, or using real money to buy it from the store.

That's right, Diamond Dynasty also has microtransactions, and while the mode isn't as "predatory" as many of its counterparts, spending money on the game still gives you a big advantage.

Unfortunately, there are plenty of cards that are only available in packs, and they are normally the best players in a particular program or promo. So, spending money on the game will help you improve your squad faster, and sometimes, it's the only way to get a card you really want.

In previous years, Diamond Dynasty had a seasons system. When a new season was released, players could only use a maximum of four cards from the previous season, forcing them to rebuild their squad almost from scratch.

Fortunately, that system has been abandoned for MLB The Show 25, and you can now build your squad without having to worry about seasons or sets and all the restrictions they imposed.

Diamond Dynasty also has plenty of game modes, each one being unique and allowing you to earn plenty of rewards. So, let's find out more about these game modes.

MLB The Show 25 Game Modes

MLB The Show 25 is expected to have seven game modes, they are: Ranked, Battle Royale, Conquest, Events, Moments, Showdown, and Mini Seasons.

These game modes all provide a different experience, with some being offline while others are online, having different durations and rules. However, all of them have one thing in common: rewards, a lot of rewards.

Ranked is the most competitive game mode in Diamond Dynasty, and it has been like that since its inception. In this mode, you will battle other players in the Diamond with the squad you built, measuring forces with plenty of great MLB The Show players.

Mini Seasons is arguably the second biggest mode in Diamond Dynasty. It's an offline mode where you play against other users' teams that are controlled by the CPU. As the name indicates, it's a mini-season, where there is a total of 28 games, with all matches having three innings.

Battle Royale is a multiplayer mode where you also face real opponents, but it's slightly different than Ranked mode. You need to pay 1500 Stubs to enter it, and you don't play with your squad. Instead, you will draft a team.

In Battle Royale, the goal is to achieve 10 wins, but if you lose two games, you are eliminated and need to start over, including paying another entry fee of 1500 Stubs. It's the most challenging mode in Diamond Dynasty, but it also offers incredible rewards.

Showdown is similar to Battle Royale, as you also draft your team. However, in Showdown, you play against the CPU and need to complete many challenges. The goal is to reach and defeat the final boss, which will earn you many amazing rewards.

Events is a mode where you battle real opponents, but your squad needs to fulfil some requirements. These requirements change from time to time, making it a highly entertaining game mode.

The Moments mode gives you the chance to relive historic moments of the long and rich history of baseball. Moments are often introduced by new programs, which arrive at Diamond Dynasty almost weekly.

Conquest is a mode where you get put on a map with other MLB teams, and the goal is to conquer their territories while finding hidden rewards along the way. It's basically MLB The Show version of RISK.
