With the MLB The Show 25 release date inching closer by the day, fans have started to wonder who will be the cover athlete. The previous MLB The Show cover stars haven't pleased fans, who complained about the game not having a true superstar on the cover.
While this isn't as important as new features, game editions, or the graphics changes the franchise desperately needs, a cover star is a big part of every sports game title.
But will MLB The Show 25 choose a superstar player for its cover? Or will they opt for another rising star? Let's find out!
MLB The Show 25 Cover Athlete Predictions
There are two glaring favourites for the MLB The Show 25 cover athlete position, and they are Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge. Both players are coming off historic seasons, are the faces of their respective franchises, and have the superstar factor.
Shohei Ohtani was on the cover of MLB The Show 22, which might lead to some fans thinking it's too soon for the face of the MLB to be on the cover again. But I think Sony San Diego Studio can make an exception for the best two-way player in baseball history, who had yet another fantastic season and capped it by winning his first World Series title.

As for the Yankees superstar, it's been six years since Aaron Judge was on the cover of MLB The Show. After a tremendous season, where he led the Yankees to a World Series appearance, Judge more than deserves to be the next cover athlete.
But there is an even better outcome. Since fans have been complaining about the lack of superstars in previous MLB The Show covers, why not give them two at once?
Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani as dual-cover athletes would be fantastic. Having the two biggest names in baseball on the cover would certainly please fans and make for a historical cover. Anyone other than these two players on the cover will most likely be met with disappointment and complaints from the MLB The Show community.
However, if Sony San Diego Studio wants to throw fans a curveball, they can pick Juan Soto as the MLB The Show 25 cover star. Soto is a superstar, and there has been a lot of buzz surrounding him this off-season, for obvious reasons.
This move would probably harm the game sales in New York, as I get the feeling Yankees fans wouldn't really like to see him on the cover of the game. But it would certainly have that element of surprise and shock you want every cover star reveal to have, and would also be quite funny as well.
We will update this article once more information regarding the MLB The Show 25 cover athlete is made official.
