Players look more realistic, and so do coaches. The same can be said for stadiums, as the atmosphere looks more realistic and immersive. It's the closest to an NFL game day atmosphere we have ever seen in Madden, with players and team entrances looking amazing and authentic.
But while all of these are good additions to the game, the gameplay is what makes or breaks a sports game. The addition of the Wear & Tear system is great and will definitely improve the gameplay, but it's not enough.
It's not enough to excite fans, especially after the gameplay issues the franchise has had for a few years. Improvements to AI, as well as revamping other gameplay features and mechanics, are needed. Hopefully, EA Madden reveals just that in the upcoming weeks.
The trailer also showcased an improvement in the weather feature, with weather conditions now affecting players like never before, having a significant impact on players' movement, passing, catching, and other abilities.
The introduction of QB DNA, with QBs having unique animations and behaviors, is also great. But the Coach DNA feature is even better, since having coaches' playcall fit their real-life tendencies, especially in specific situations, makes the game much more realistic and enjoyable to play.
