Archetypes are coming to FC 26, and they change the way the game is played, both in Career mode and in Clubs. They are one of the many new gameplay features that were revealed in the FC 26 reveal trailer.
Every archetype in FC 26 is inspired by legends of the game and world-class players at their respective positions. It will add a new layer of realism and immersion to the game.
What are Archetypes in FC 26?
In FC 26, archetypes are inspired by football legends, and they will introduce new player classes to Career mode and Clubs, bringing more authenticity to each player.
Players will be able to unlock different archetype perks and upgrade attributes, which will directly impact the development of their abilities. The goal is to give each player a unique feel when they step onto the pitch.
EA has a similar feature in its College Football franchise, with archetypes impacting how players develop, the areas they excel at, how they perform on the field, and more.
If they can implement that in FC 26 in a successful way, then it can make Career mode much more immersive, while adding more depth to Clubs when it comes to upgrading your character.
We still don't know if this feature will be available on all FC 26 platforms, since usually, some new features don't arrive at old-gen consoles. That's something EA FC will hopefully clarify in the near future.
