The eFootball™ World Festival wasn't only an event where the best console and mobile eFootball players in the world were decided; it also served as a platform for Konami to announce major updates to the game via eFootball™ CONNECT.

The spotlight was on Sergio Agüero's reveal as the new legend coming to eFootball.

El Kun is part of the Epic: Legends Assemble Special as an obtainable reward until the end of the eFootball™ World Festival Campaign.

Wayne Rooney, one of the greatest players in English football, is also returning to the title with new abilities, Phenomenal Finish and Willpower, as well as increased shooting stats.

The Custom Tournament mode was announced and will allow players to "host their own tournaments or join others where tournament rules and regulations can be customised in detail."

A new team style called Overload will also arrive at eFootball soon. This team style tells players to use a compact shape with the goal of creating numerical advantage situations on the ball side.

According to Konami, this team style will allow players to "In attack, maintain stable possession, whereas on defence, a compact formation allows for quicker pressing."

Finally, players can also choose different tactical formations for attack and defense. This adds an extra tactical layer to the game, with players having more tactical versatility than ever before.

Managers with two Link-Ups will be added to eFootball at the beginning of the season.

Last but not least, Treasure Link, a "bingo-style achievement" system, was added. It allows users to earn and also share personalised rewards. These rewards are divided into three variants: Special, Rare, and Normal.

Some of these changes are already live in eFootball, while others will be added to the title in the near future.
