EA FC used Season 7 to introduce a brand-new feature, the EA FC 25 Premium Season Pass, the first of its kind in franchise history. It's not exactly shocking, as you could see it coming from a mile off the very moment the free version was introduced.

However expected it may be, especially for a game that is baked in microtransactions like EA FC 25, the Premium Season Pass is here. There is no dialing back. So, is it worth buying, or a total waste?

Should You Buy EA FC 25 Premium Season Pass?

One of the most important bits about the EA FC 25 Premium Season Pass is that it can be bought for both 500k Coins and 1k FC Points (which is roughly $10). While it does not give you FC Points back, all packs you get are tradable, which means you can earn at least half of those Coins back.

Looking at it like that, for the 500k Coins, the Premium Season Pass does look worth it. That's about the same price for several Evolutions, like Maradona and Strike Force. Compared to those, the rewards the pass has do look more value-for-money.

The final reward of FUT Immortals Icon Franck Ribéry and the Evolution it has would otherwise also be priced about the same in Coins as the Premium Season Pass, were they released separately. Yes, 500k Coins is a bit of work to grind if you don't have it, but the value sure is a good deal.

As for spending FC Points on Premium Pass, we don't think it is worth it in the long run. First off, the $10 is relative chump change for some and valuable for others. But when you stack that up across seasons, it becomes a big amount.

You already bought the game for $70 or more; add 7-plus seasons for another $70, and that's $140-plus spent all year on the game and Premium Season Pass alone. Of course, you don't have to buy all seasons, but you get what we are trying to imply. Even for one season, it is better to either use Coins or just sit it out.

Rewards aren't so good that you will be damned that you missed something important. None of the Evolution or cards will give you unbeaten Champs or anything like that.

Keep in mind that these are just the early days. While yes, the rewards are good, and you can buy them with Coins, EA won't likely keep this forever. The moment they make it real-money only, to justify that price, they could turn the game pay-to-win (frankly, you could draw the argument that it already is, and we won't debate).

All that forewarning or doomposting aside, if you have the Coins, you can buy the Premium Season Pass for now, and with a bit of luck, it'll return you the amount. The rewards are otherwise good enough to warrant the price, too, especially considering the game's economy.

For FC Points, however, we don't fancy the idea of spending anything additional every season on a game that you already paid full or more for. You can buy once and get the Coins for the next, and continue like that, but there will be other paid Evolutions and stuff where you'll impatiently dump all your Coins on.

That's everything about the EA FC 25 Premium Season Pass. For more on the game, check out everything about the TOTS Promo and how you can vote in it.
